Workshop Presenter: Choir Development - Sis. Laveenia Peavy
Praise the Lord! My name is Sis Laveenia Peavy. I am a wife of ONE husband with 3 beautiful children. I belong to The True Pentecostal Church of Vallejo, where my pastor is Eld. Charles Jordan.
I have been surrounded by music al my life. My grandmother/father, aunts/uncles, cousins etc, all have some form of musical talent. Whether it is instruments or vocal ability, they all have expressed themselves through music. God has blessed me to be able to embrace the ministry of music in the same manner. I have been involved in church music ministry since the age of around 10 years old, including: children’s choir, teen youth choir, and now the adult choir. I have also been blessed to play the bass guitar for our Women’s choir a few years back. I currently hold the position of Music Director at my church covering all aspects of music from choirs, to musicians, to the sound room, and I am the worship leader. Although, it is a lot to handle, I take the challenge.
Food for thought: There is a level of worship and praise that one can enter into that will shake the very foundation of satans’ kingdom! My strength lies in the word of God and in my very worship to Him. I long to be in the vein of God and to know the very heart of Him that hath blessed me!
Workshop Music Clinician: Bass - Brian Turner
I was born in San Francisco, CA and raised in Vallejo, CA. I am the younger of two siblings. I truly love God, because I understand that without “God” I can do nothing.
I trust him and believe that the gift of playing guitar is truly that a “gift” from God. I began to play the bass guitar at age 13 under the instruction of my father Sam Turner, whom I admire and love and believe he is one of the best guitar players God has appointed.
I began playing in the Church of God in Christ under the pastorialship of Elder B.T. Turner. Although I was a young man I knew “God” had a work for me to do, so I would practice basically everyday and play in church every Sunday, it was not always easy because disciplining myself to practice did not come natural, however, dedication helped me to heed to the call of God!
Some of my influences are: My Pops (Sam Turner), Derrick DOA Allen, Eric Smith, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clark, Jaco Pastorius, Maurice Fitzgerald, Joel Smith, Pino Palladino and a host of others.
Instruments I play: Fender Geddy Lee, Jaaa Bass , Lakeland Five String Bass, Amp eg 210 combo Amp
“As I continue on this journey of playing my bass guitar for God I have realized that it is not being the best but it is being God’s best that counts.

Workshop Musican's Clinic for Guitarists given by Kenny Bluford

All the way from Northern California comes one by the name of Kenny B. Originally named Kenneth A. Bluford Jr after his father Kenneth A. Bluford Sr. The last child of six given by his beautiful mother Janice Bluford. He is one that has always been full of dreams, visions, and goals which were inspiration given only by God. Other than God and family, music is the essence of his life. Those that know him know that the words, Energy, Creativity, and Love, describes him fully. Those same characteristics greatly transfer through his music.
Music has been that positive influence that has drawn and kept him in church in his early teen years. It is there where he cultivated his gift and talent serving on the worship team at his church for over 10 years. He built his foundation of music by playing the drums at the church for many years, then changing to the guitar, which allowed him to then sing and write songs. He formed his on band at the age of 16 and began performing at his High School and local churches. He was then given a platform to developing his skills by leading worship at church, which has helped him be what he is today.
After High School he then moved on to a intense internship called Master Commission USA, of Pastor Lloyd Ziegler, held at Phoenix First Assembly of Tommy Barnett. This internship involved intense biblical studies and hands-on service to the community, along with his own personal studies in the music institute. This institute was lead by the world renowned Frontline worship team, which has traveled around the world for over 10 years. After gaining much wisdom and experience from Master Commission USA, he continued to pursue his dreams.
The one thing that Kenny holds of great value, above all, is his relationship with God and Family and Friends! Before the music, is a man that desires to chase after God’s heart, and is here to encourage whoever he encounters to do the same. His vision is, “That when you see me, you see through me, only to see God”.
After Moving forward through some obstacles in life, he has learned the value and true Power of the Grace of God! Now seeing life in a better view, he has a burden to reach the unreachable, those that are broken and scarred!
He now lives and serves in Houston, Texas. He continues performing and recording projects, hoping to inspire lives like the ones who have inspired him.

Minister Kenneth Martin Jr. is the loving husband of the beautiful Mrs. Maya Martin. They have been married for over 12 years and are the proud parents of two lovely daughters, A Native of Northern California, He now resides in the city of Las Vegas with his wife and two daughters. They are the members of the Tabernacle of Praise church and serve faithfully in ministry with their leaders Pastor Michael & First Lady Kathy Jackson.
Born into a family of preachers and teachers, Minister Martin has been exposed to the Gospel for as long as he can remember. The son & grandson of Pastors, Missionaries and Evangelists, Minister Martin shares a rich heritage in church ministry. He grew up at the Macedonia church of God In Christ in Suisun, CA under the Pasturage of the late Henry Simpkins. His growth continued at Macedonia under the tutelage of his father Pastor Kenneth Martin Sr.
As a young child there was an evident call upon his life to serve the Lord and through the gift of music he was able to start serving in the church at an early age. At five years old he began playing drums for his church’s youth choir and sunshine band singers. Later, when he decided that drum line had just gotten to popular and to long of a wait he asked his father to teach him a song on the piano. He taught him the song, ”He’s Alright With Me” , and the rest is history. His parents believed in nurturing and training their children in serving the Lord in the church and abroad through practical application. This type of training allowed Minister Martin to become exposed to various areas of the ministry.
He accepted Christ as Lord and was saved during the summer of his 7th grade Junior high school year at a Sunday morning service in Suisun, Ca. and was water baptized shortly after. He admits to having many challenges in living for the Lord as a youth and recalls many times when he turned back and began allowing old habits to become his daily living. He admits, ”I know that I was crucifying the Lord afresh at those times in my life. I am thankful that God’s grace and mercy and Christ’s blood were sufficient to forgive, and restore me back into right fellowship with the Lord.”
In High school between the years of 1990 and 1993, Minister Martin became co-founder of the Armijo High school Gospel Choir. Through this group he was able to draw other teens to relationship with Christ and a deeper love for gospel music.
Minister Martin was baptized in the Holy Ghost on September 21, 1998 in an old fashioned prayer revival service with the evidence of speaking in tongues. He admits, “Since that day, my life has never been the same.” Shortly after receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, Minister Martin acknowledged and yielded to the call of God upon His life to share the Gospel and became a licensed Minister.
He has worked in almost every area of church ministry, including Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader, Music Minister, Choir Director and Trainer, Bible Study instructor, musician, Witnessing Team Leader, and anything else he can find his hands doing.
He is committed to living out the purpose and plan of God in his life and believes in holy living, giving God Glory in everything, and worshiping God in everything he does.
